Pick a Potty Help
Finding the right kit
To help you find the right Printer Potty for your printer we’ve provided the Pick-a-Potty tool on our home page.
- Simply type in your printers model number
eg: for the Photo Expression XP605 you would type in 605 - Select the appropriate match suggested.
- The tool then provides you with an information window which indicates if your printer model is already compatible with one of our kits. The tool also indicates if installation instructions and a waste ink counter reset facility is available.
- Simply click on any of the icons for more information.
Note: In some instances, particularly for new model printers, there isn’t immediate kit compatibility or reset support. Of course, we are work hard to add support for new (and some old) printers so this information is constantly being updated.
Access Limits
The Pick-A-Potty tool is intended to potential Printer Potty customers with information to help with their own printers.
However, wholesale data trawling is discouraged and as such we have a system that identifys and limits such behaviour.
We’re aware it’s not 100% perfect so to help genuine end-users this guide will help avoid further restrictions in future.
What’s The Best Way To Use the Pick-A-Potty Tool
It’s pretty unlikely that you own 3 different printers, that all hit “Service Required” on the same day so ordinarily you shouldn’t have any problems.
Simply restrict your searches to the printer(s) that you have a direct interest in.
Will I Be Able To Access Additional Printer Models?
Depending on the number of searches you’ve already done, you may find you need to wait between a couple of minutes to an hour before you will be able to access additional information.
If in doubt, please contact us with the printer models you require info’ on and w’ll see what we can do to help.
FAO: Printer Service professionals, potential resellers, etc…
A wider access to this resource may be available depending on your status and intent… Please contact us if you are interested in discussing this further.
WICReset Service
The Waste Ink Counter Reset (WICReset) utility is an app that allows you to both read and reset the waste ink counter on compatible printers.
“Keys” are effectively credits that allows you to reset the waste ink counters on any compatible printer, once per key. Once used a key expires and an additional key is needed for the next time. The reset process itself resets the waste ink counters back to zero and effectively gives the printer an additional life.
Purchasing:
At present we sell the reset key through the OctoInkjet site here:
https://www.octoink.co.uk/keys
Please note: Keys are also provided as part of a discounted bundle with both Printer Potty external waste ink kits and Printer Pad replacement pad sets so if you haven’t already got a plan for dealing with the physical waste ink it’s worth purchasing the appropriate bundle and save some money in the process.
More Information:
For more information along with links to utility downloads, video instructions and troubleshooting guides please check the OctoInkjet site here:

Installation instructions unavailable
The printer model you selected (via Pick-a-Potty) is not supported with installation instructions.
While it’s possible that instructions may be provided in the future, such support is not planned for this particular printer model
This could be for a number of different reasons but usually it is due to considerations such as:
- Printer design makes a waste kit installation impractical
- Age and lack of interest/availability for this printer
Please Note:
If you are particularly keen to get this printer documented or just wish to get further clarification as to why this printer is not supported please contact us and we’ll be happy to discuss it further.
